Red Kite is a Weissenborn style acoustic lap slide guitar with a 630mm scale length. It can be made in a variety of woods, the ones shown here are Sapele top and back with English walnut sides and Cuban mahogany top with English cherry sides. I make make two different body depths - 80mm and 90mm. Currently I have a limited supply for hardcases that can be adapted to fit these instruments but these are not flight cases and if you travel a lot with the instrument you will need to have a custom case made.

Here are some soundclips I have recorded. The first is my own composition "Red Kites" played on my own Sapele/English Walnut 80mm deep Red Kite in DADGAD. Next is "Colin's Aint" in DADFAD tuning played on an 80mm deep Red Kite made from mahogany reclaimed from a Georgian corner cupboard. Finally there is "Martha's Stuff" played on my daughter's 90mm deep Cuban mahogany/English cherry Red Kite in DADFAD tuning.
